Intelligent Transport Systems
From the broad issues in the area of intelligent transport systems, Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications produces concepts aimed at collection, processing, distribution and reception of transport information especially in the area of road transport.
Our skilled activities are focused on:

Preparation of standardisation and legislative background for the area of electronic communications services aimed at provision of transport information,

Studies of technical and organization provision for introducing transport information services,

Analyses and proposals of business models of collection, processing and distribution of transport information,

Pilot projects to launch transport information services,

Analyses of possibilities of transport information provision via the new communication technologies, such as digital audio and TV broadcast,

Monitoring development of information communication protocols in support of spreading transport information.

European regional project CONNECT
Annotation: Project solved in co-operation with VUD (Research Institute of Transport), a.s. Žilina

Within this project, the ITS studies were produced and the pilot projects of the traffic information centre and the traffic information distribution via channel of traffic messages in radio data system (RDS-TMC) and also via traffic -information web portal were realised. At the same time on the level of the international manager, VUS managed the domain of traffic information services.

Standards for traffic information transfer via radio data system
Annotation:
Transformation and establishment of the standards set EN ISO 14 819 into STN (Slovak standards) system.
This has created basic foundations for introducing and operation of TMC services (traffic messages channel) on the national level.

Intelligent transport systems
Annotation:
Technical analysis of the electronic charges collection system (road-toll),
analyse of standardisation basis for the information-communication technologies and the transport systems relation.
Within the project VUS has been engaged into the conjoint international activities.
VUS has identified resources and proposed the basic data flows in the systems of collection, proceeding,
distribution and reception of the transport information in Slovakia conditions.
