Digital terrestrial audio broadcasting in various systems (T-DAB/T-DAB+, DRM, DRM+, ...) also belongs among technologies, which are in the process of implementation in Europe and which are supported by the Slovak Government as well. The Strategy on Transition from Analogue to Digital Terrestrial Audio Broadcasting the Slovak Republic, including the technical plan and the time schedule, was adopted by the Resolution of the Slovak Government Nr. 11 from 12th January 2011.

The Ministry of Transport, Construction & Regional Development of the Slovak Republic and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic play an important role in the process of the transition from analogue to digital terrestrial video & audio broadcasting, whereas Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications provides expert support activities to these institutions.
